Which side are these clowns really on?

I read this article over breakfast; "Play Draws Anti-Gay Protesters," about a protest in N.C. and can't help but wonder which side these clowns really on? It is so chock-full of absurd nonsense (e.g., "Thank God for 9/11" and "Matthew Sheppard and Pope John Paul II are buring in hell") that LAMBDA itself couldn't hope for a better protest.
